James Cameron and Pipin Ferreras to work together for the film 

"The Dive"

Miami, FL - On July 10 and 11, 2003, James Cameron (Cameron) and Pipin Ferreras (Pipin), with the presence of Carlos Serra, met in Miami, FL to foresee the potential participation of Cameron in the upcoming movie project, tentatively named, “The Dive”. The following are the points of agreement between Pipin and Cameron that came out from those meetings:

 

  • Cameron will direct the movie.

  • Cameron may write the script or will select a top writer of his choice to write the script.

  • Pipin will have a voice (vote/veto) in the selection of the actors/actresses for the main characters, including but not limited to the roles of Audrey Mestre and Pipin Ferreras.

  • All of the underwater scenes would be filmed in 24p (Progressive Image Scanning) Format. The “above the water” scenes may be filmed in 24p or as Cameron’s may decide later on.

  • Pipin will have the rights to commercialize with the Networks his own existing filming material, produced by “Pipin Productions” for potential TV-documentaries.

  • Pipin will be part of the underwater camera crew during the filming.

  • For the upcoming World Record Attempt (The Event), tentatively set for October 12, 2003, Cameron and his crew would be present to film the event for the potential usage of the filmed material during “The Dive”. However, Pipin and his crew are free to negotiate with different networks and/or organizations the rights to sell “air-time” for TV.

  • The networks may be present during The Event to tape or transmit live via television, all the different aspects involved with The Event. The Networks’ participation is totally independent from the film making crew and is not to be connected in any way with Cameron’s presence and work. However, no other crew for “Film-type” recording other than Cameron’s crew will be allowed.

  • Pipin and his crew are also free to negotiate sponsorship for The Event.

  • Cameron’s crew will find the financial meanings to cover all the expenses involved by the presence of his crew during the event.

  • Pipin and his crew will find the financial meanings to cover all the expenses involved by the coordination and setup plus the presence of his crew during the event.

  • Barry Josephson may participate as a producer and continue to be part of the whole project.

  • Pipin and his crew will provide Cameron as much material and time for the successful completion of this project, “The Dive”.

  • The script for “The Dive” would be completed by the end of 2004.

  • The pre - production of “The Dive” would start by the Spring of 2005.
